Camp Woodruff

Camp Information-

Located near Blairsville, GA (North Georgia Mountains), Camp Woodruff is a 1575 acre property adjacent to Lake Notley (86 acres) and the Chattahoochee National Forrest. Woodruff offers excellent facilities, wooded campsites, and trails. It also provides a camp trading post, 1200 seat lake front amphitheater, waterfront, nature center, shooting range, rifle range, COPE (11 high and 11 low), and a 62ft climbinglrappelling tower (6 lanes), and 2 climbing chimneys. In addition, the scouts will have an opportunity to raft the Nantahala or Ocoee River or take the Horseman Merit Badge.

Troop 15 is pleased to announce that we have been accepted to attend Camp Robelt Wooodruff Scout Reservation. Camp Woodruff is one of the premier camp properties within the BSA prollerties. Troop 15 has never been to this camp and we are looking forward to this new experience.

There will be more information to come, but for now we need to establish a payment schedule for the scouts going to camp. The cost for summer camp is $275.00 which includes the rafting trip or Horseman MB, but like all trips the cost is with the travel. The Troop will be renting 3 vans (minimum) to travel. Each van will cost $603.56 plus fuel. This along with travel meals will add $100.00 per scout to the $275.00 bringing the total of each scout to $375.00. I realize that this is a lot of money, but if we can spread out the payments it should make it less painful. Additional fees will be required for specific merit badges, offsite activities and High Adventure Programs.
